Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Butter Chicken (Restaurant style):

  1. For Chicken Marination
  2. Half kg Chicken -
  3. 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder -
  4. 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice -
  5. Salt - Add To Taste
  6. 2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste -
  7. 2 Tbsp Oil -
  8. 3 Tbsp Yogurt -
  9. For Making Gravy
  10. 1/2 Cup Oil -
  11. 3-4 Tbsp Butter -
  12. 3 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste -
  13. 2 Tsp Coriander Powder -
  14. 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder -
  15. 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder -
  16. 1 Tsp Cumin Powder -
  17. Salt - Add To Taste
  18. 1/2 Kg Tomatoes -
  19. Orange food color (optional)
  20. 200 Grams Onion -
  21. For Final Garnish
  22. 3 Tbsp Butter -
  23. 1/2 Cup Cream -
  24. 2 Tbsp Fresh Coriander -
  25. 1 Tbsp Fenugreek Leaves Powder -

Instructions to make to make Butter Chicken (Restaurant style)

  1. Marination process: Cut chicken into thin slices and add red chili powder, salt as per your taste, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, oil and yogurt. Mix all these spices into chicken and marinate for 30 to 60 minutes.
  2. To make gravy: Add oil and butter into pan, once heat up, add ginger garlic paste and sliced onions. Once the onion is golden brown add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt as per your taste and tomatoes and cook well. Once all ingredients are fully cooked, pour them into blender and make a smooth paste to prepare gravy.
  3. Roast the marinated chicken in pan (oil not needed). once roasted, shred them into bite size pieces.
  4. Add roasted chicken pieces into gravy and further add butter and cream into gravy and cook well for 5 minutes.
  5. For final garnish: add fresh coriander and fenugreek leaves into gravy and cook for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
